As an independent painter, through his personal style Yves Laran
is determined to remain himself, faithful toward beauty and concerned
to establish the exact relationship between light and shade,
between cold and warm tones, between dynamic rhythm and static
appearance, between space and solid, form and meaning.
Born in Perpignan, France, Yves has earned an international visibility,
while living for many years in Miami and Key-West where he produced
so many of his paintings, now in private collections, in the United
States, Sao-Polo, Brazil, Canada and around the world. After study
sculpturing in Italy for one year in Italy, Yves was recognized
for his parade sculptures and had taught clay modeling for a while.
Laran paints, both figuratively and abstractly, using vibrant oil
colors and intensity to create on large canvas, light, sensuality,
feeling and movements.
